DeSana Middle – DeSana is named for Jim and Jeanne DeSana. Mr. DeSana was an engineer with General Motors. He was also a self taught pianist, inventor and artist. Mrs. DeSana was a genetic scientist who worked for Emory University and later for the State of Georgia. Long-time volunteers in Forsyth County Schools, the DeSanas worked with Forsyth Central HS drama students and Otwell MS school council, and also were involved in the district’s first Strategic Plan, Partners in Education Committee and were founding members of the LEADER program. They established their own scholarship program with their life savings in 1997, which has provided over $250,000 in funding to FCS seniors.
